3/30/24 – Happy Easter to those that observe and Happy Final Reese’s Peanut Butter Egg Days to those that do not. We’re back on our normal schedule and will have 4 encounters for you this week, plus some standard/strange commentary on Threads.
New this week, we submitted a session to Gen Con Indy (still in review), and I (John) will be DMing at DnD Fest in September (Team E seats still available)! If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to play DnD with us, you may get to find out soon enough.
We also answered two Mailbag questions last week:
- Our thoughts on using DMPCs (thejitterybeholder)
- How we create stat blocks for DnD 5e (hrunswicksampson)
Enjoy your weeks and as always reach out if you have any questions, comments or suggestions!
DnD Creator Spotlight & Resources
Artist/Homebrewer: You’ve likely heard of The Fluffy Folio already, but a pun and an anthropomorphic lemon made us post their latest creation this week. Meet the Lemon Aider! It’s got a Special Trait called “Lemon Squeezy” and an Action of Lemon Drop. Check it out!
More DM Resources:
- DM Opinion: Many players don’t expect to die. And that’s okay (Reddit)
- The Game Master Dictionary from Tall Tavern (Threads)
- Not specifically DnD, but the 2nd Edition of Cairn is now live on Kickstarter! Big fan of 1st edition and already backed the second.
- DMs, how do you let your players know they’re supposed to run from an encounter without metagaming? (Reddit)
- Don’t “deal with” resistances, immunities, or other abilities, let your players benefit from them! (Reddit)
- Temple of Death – A Free adventure for level 1-3
- D20 Maritime Encounters for Seafaring Quests
- Got any ACTUALLY complex and hard Puzzles/Ciphers? (Reddit)

Free NPCs
- Lady Yaga – Not to be confused with Baba Yaga, is a surprisingly attractive night hag who practices magic somewhere deep in the forest. Recently, people from nearby towns have gone to visit with this witch in the dead of night, causing alarm among local leaders. Especially since most come back with foggy memories of what happened there.
One local preacher, a man named Father Razzi, or Papa Razzi to his friends, has been in pursuit of this hag for quite some time. He asks the party’s help to locate Lady Yaga and slay the wicked creature.
This Week’s Encounters
- Feaster Egg Hunt – A town of halflings is ecstatic for their yearly Feaster Egg Hunt where the elders hide large pastel-painted eggs with their favorite foods inside. Three of the elders did not return from hiding the eggs, putting a damper on the festivities.
- Chic Filet – A kua-toa and an aarokocra go head-to-head in a Zoolander-esque fashion off, but there’s one problem. The models have all gone missing. Can the party help?
- Lucky Rabbit’s Foot…Right? Right?!
- A Run to Remember
- Behold The Power of Lambunck – A cult takes on a rare three-headed enemy
- Bringing Down a Bun-hemoth
- To Dust They Shall Return
- All the leftover bunny posts from last year – yes, everthing having to do with bunnies that we didn’t end up turning into a full post.
If you have a moment, we’d appreciate it if you could take a quick survey for feedback about what else you’d like to see in these weekly newsletters.
