When you absolutely need to forget something, the Tankard of Lost Thoughts will do the trick.
After a night of imbibing with this tankard, roll a Wisdom check every three game hours. Roll d20s equal to the number of drinks you’ve had from the Tankard within that period. If you hit below a 10, you are granted the ability to forget one thought.
Some examples of thoughts to forget:
- That time you rolled a Nat 1 and something awful happened
- The name of an NPC you mauled, maimed, or accidentally ruined their lives
- Anything really, the sky is the limit! (or the floor depending on the night you had)
If you successfully forget the thought or memory, then congratulations, you’ve forgotten!
If you are unable to think of something to forget in 10-20 seconds, your party can suggest something to forget as well, but be careful as this may have the side effect of forgetting your name, how much of the treasure split was yours, or much worse.
Another side effect (if your DM feels it necessary) is a -2 to INT checks throughout the next day.
Warning: Whatever you do, absolutely do not attempt to fuse this Tankard with a Bottomless Tankard and/or Tankard of Sobriety.
