Here are DnD encounter ideas we didn’t think through further over the past week because they were too dumb, or we couldn’t think of anything compelling around them, though we did find them interesting enough to poke at.
Fireball of Extra Singeing
Slightly modified fireball that is the exact same, except everyone within the 20-foot-radius automatically has their eyebrows singed off.
Maybe the townspeople are frustrated because they can’t read each other’s nonverbal social cues anymore through eyebrow movements.
Here Comes the Sun, AHHHHHHH
A woodland cult that doesn’t understand how the sun works and thinks it’s a giant fire in the sky that gets put out every day. They are attempting to prevent it from setting and, need help or some such thing.
Or the opposite, they fight all day to try and put out the fire, successfully doing so eventually each day. Obviously they think they succeeded, but it’s basic sunset stuffs.
What’s a little arson?

A jester of great renown throughout the Forgotten Realms is known for his ability to fart on command and also set it on fire. He is preparing for his last performance which is set to be a bit more explosive. *Maybe he’s trying to pass the proverbial torch to someone else before he blows himself up…so a character can get the new ability to produce a flamethrower from their ass
- Learn that it was limited to 100 total farts and this is his 100th
- The party learns there’s one he forgot about and can persuade him not to go through with it
- if they do, he transfers the power through ??? and they are granted 100

What if we created our own volunteer fire department (especially useful for towns close to dragons) *This one sounds really wholesome…I wonder how it could be made ridiculous
